We got a card in the mail from Morris Animal Foundation saying that my vet had made a donation to them in memory of Stumpy.

I am incredibly touched by such a kind gesture from the vet. According to their website, "Morris Animal Foundation is the world's largest nonprofit foundation dedicated to funding research studies to protect, treat and cure animals". I think that's a wonderful cause for vet's to donate to. I checked this group in Charity Navigator to see how they were rated, and they got 4 stars - the highest you can get, so I'm even more impressed that they are considered such a good charity.

When my son had to have his malamute pts, their vet also donated I believe to an animal health research institute.

It's comforting to think that because of our pet, some good may come out of a sad event.

When we lost Banshee to hyperthyroidism back in August, our vet donated to the Morris Foundation. It helped us to know that maybe a furbaby will live because of that donation.

That's a thought... I have no idea how much the vet donation was, but making a donation to MAF in Stumpy's memory is a great idea.
