As suggested for feeding, I made a bib for Sherman. Google wasn't really returning useful results (kept getting baby bibs..) so I just made it up. I used some plain spare material I had in case it came out badly. (though that fabric would be perfect for hiding food stains
)

http://s136.photobucket.com/albums/q179/strange_wings/Cat pics/bib.jpg Velcro for easy on and off, and in case he runs off before I can remove it.

A picture of Sherman with it on. He doesn't like it.

I'll be making a few modifications to the pattern I made but I will be making some more of these. I have some cute cat fabric I can use once I'm certain I have the pattern perfect (the stuff cost $8 a yard, I refuse to waste it).

Does anyone have pictures of other cat bibs or suggestions?

I can sew all sorts of things if I'm bored enough. Like others on here I've made everything from bookcovers to clothes, to small quilts.

I don't have any suggestions for you; I just wanted to say that Sherman looks very cute (despite his dismay) sporting his new accessory!

Good job making that; perhaps there's a market for them? They're certainly more useful than "kitten mittens" (if you've ever seen _It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia_
)!

Yes, I've seen that preview. I wonder if the cat bit them afterwards.
And yes, people that show cats use bibs - I finally found some on ebay earlier... they all looked incredibly tacky. Lacey, rick-rack, bows, and some were slide over the head types (that would really make Sherman angry) - overall, not very masculine for a male kitty.
I might make one with some holly on it or something since I have spare felt and who knows what else around here.

I want to see if I can find some fabric with little skeleton fish on it (typical kitty related pattern). I've seen it before but never bought it.

That's cute! Why does Sherman need a bib? If it's to keep food off his fur, he should get used to it once he realizes that the bib=food! They can forgive a lot if food is involved.

He has some fluffiness to him.

Tomas who doesn't need anything (very sleek DSH) likes wearing it. But he'll do anything for momma (as DH says).

If anyone with fluffy kitties has the same problem, and sews, I'll be willing to help show anyone how to make them.

OK that explains it. Seems like things are working out pretty well with the bib. He'll just think it's part of the feeding ritual. That was some pretty smart thinking on your part, and a nice looking bib.
