How do you know if it's an ER visit or a regular vet visit? Lucky has been throwing up for two days now after trying to use the litter. I don't feel a hard stomach. He doesn't like his bottom touched at all. It's a mess of honestly I don't know what. There are two ER vets but it's going to be expensive and I honestly don't know if it's the right choice. I never dealt with this so I don't know if it's ok to wait a day.

Two days of vomiting and no voiding is an immediate ER visit in my opinion.

Under a pile of cats (and dogs)
Feel right at the base of the tail, Ruby gets blocked right there at the back and you can feel a big hard ball. Personally I would probably wait until tomorrow, the throwing up isnt good but if they are constipated their tummy will be upset so throwing up isnt uncommon. Is he eating and drinking and peeing?

Well, in this situation you really don't. From what you describe he should have an X-ray to find out whether he needs to be cleaned out. And even if he does, whether it would be safe to wait with that till tomorrow when you can get to your regular vet. No way to tell without an X-ray.

Sometimes they vomit and have problems in the litter box, yet the X-ray shows they still don't need emergency treatment. When that's the case subQ fluids (at the vet) will make them feel a lot better and then one can start them on Miralax and different food at home. (Some foods are constipating as a rule.)

I have to agree with Auntie Crazy, he should be checked today.

He is eating, drinking and playing just fine. He only vomits after visiting the litter and I can't say it's every trip. Seven cats & 3 floors makes it hard to keep an eye on a kitty you didn't know was sick. Thanks

Lucky now has a full bladder and it isn't emptying. We are off to the ER vet. Can I have some vibes for my baby please?

Poor Lucky.
If you have time later, please update with how the visit went.

So I jumped the gun but feel better. No signs of stones but his bladder is inflammed. They "think" the blood is coming from his bladder. The U/S and X-ray was clean. He wouldn't give a sample there so we are home with a pan hoping for some pee. They gave us pain meds. Please keep the vibes coming. Thanks

Some peace of mind was worth it, though. And you know what else you're possibly dealing with.

Good luck getting some pee.. I hope this can be dealt with and that Lucky gets better soon.

Thanks. It's been 3 hours and no pee. He had a empty bladder when we left. Just a few drops of bloody urine

yay!! That is great news!! Hope the vibes hold! I am bringing Lois in at 4pm today -- I think we stopped the SubQ fluids too soon - I'm pretty sure she's blocked somehow so we're going to make sure with x-rays, etc.
