We froze some the leftover turkey, since the wife and I don't like it that much (parents made us take some home) we were thinking of feeding it to the cat as a treat in little chunks. Is there another way she'd like to eat it, or is that a good plan?

My cats went berserk over the turkey breast I cooked on thanksgiving. I had the flu so had to stay home by myself with the cats.

I'd never cooked turkey here before, and they've never had it.

I cooked a 3 pound breast, they went crazy while it was cooking sniffing the air, and when it was done, I could not sit down to eat, they were on me like rats.

My cats are not beggars, and do not bother me when I eat. But they lost all manners over that turkey.

So I gave them some, in the living room around the treat mat, before sitting down to my own dinner,

However Tolly refused to eat for almost 2 days after, he was holding out for more turkey! He did finally start eating again, until I brought out some leftovers one night, as soon as I opened the container they were again on me like rats.

And again, Tolly boycotted his food for a day after. I know it wasn't because he was sick from the turkey, because he said he was hungry. He just thought he should have turkey always.

The point of the long story is to be careful not to give them too much at a time, and space the turkey treats out...keep it in the freezer.

I'd only give it as treats, too. I don't like to give the cats too much of anything different - but then some of mine have more sensitive GIs.

As for how you and the wife could eat it. You could make stuff like turkey tacos or chili - add enough hot sauce and other things and it would make it less boring.

I'm pretty sure they didn't season the turkey. Whenever we open the container she's vocal and trying to get up on the counters! Maybe we'll just give her a cube or two a few times a week.

.
Me either. My cats get no commercial treats and only very rarely a bit of chicken when I am cooking one (or if someone is sick) (and tiny bits of mayonnaise when I am claw trimming
)

There are a couple exception to this. Jennie is a sampler. She likes to taste anything I eat, and has her favorites. She doesn't beg, she waits until I am finished, then I invite her to come over. She waits for me to offer her a minuscule taste. Tomato sauce is a favorite of hers, but she'll try almost anything. The bits are less than small, barely a lick It's really more of a ritual than a treat.

The other exception is that Tolly loves peas and green beans, so he always gets a few of those when I am having them.

Mazy is not interested in people food, which is a good thing since she is on special diet.
