When are your kitties birthdays or gotcha days?

The only ones I know are my two black and whites: Fetty and his sister Bubble were born March 26, 2009. My son's birthday.

The others are lost in the mist of time! I am just glad they are with me. My buds!

Umm.. I can't even remember my anniversary and often forget my own birthday.


Tomas was November 28, 2006. I only remember this because it was right after Thanksgiving and the day before a big cold front that would have killed him if I hadn't found him that night - it was also close to my join date here. If you go back from that date by ten weeks you'll be close to his born date.

Sho was January, 2003. Born in August 2002.

Sherman was December, 2008.

Siri was around either last week of July or August of this year.

And the kittens were in October. Likely born late August or early September.

I could probably get closer dates if I went back through all of their medical records.

Would you believe I have a spreadsheet on this topic? The ones with a question mark after it are the ones that I've assigned birthday's to. I know the exact days when Scarlett, Muddy and Koko were born because their feral moms had them near the house and I found them immediately. The others were born elsewhere and their moms brought them to the house.

Tiny's birthday is the only one I know for certain. She was born in a shelter February 13, 1998 and brought home exactly 8 weeks later.

Tre's age is just a guess. In 1999, the vet guessed he was 3 years old, so 1996 got assigned for his birth year. He came to live with me in early 2003.

Thufir was born sometime in 1999. I don't know much other than that. He came to live with me after Christmas in 2000.

Promise's I know within a few days. I found her in June of 2004 as a kitten, so the vet was able to place her age in early May. She picked May 7th, although personally I like to go with May 5th so that I have another reason to celebrate.

Aristotle was born March 1, 2005 at 12:16am. (His foster mommy was there and recorded the time.)
Topaz's Gotcha Day is October 24, 2005 as that is when we brought her into the house. I have no idea when she was born.

The shelter estimated Kiki's birthday to be 11/13/2008. Her gotcha day was 08/26/2009.

Cindy and Fawn were rescued at about five weeks and came to us at five months, so we can estimate that they were born in May 2001. Given that it was a friend of my MIL who fostered them, and MIL who was the conduit and gave them to us as an early Christmas present that year, we gave them her birthday, which happened to be May 8. Seemed appropriate.

The only cat whose actual birthday I have known was Shasta. Everyone else, we've known at least the year. Gryph and Nibs we assigned somewhat arbitrarily, to spread three birthdays across the year. Suzy and Sam, we knew within a couple of weeks, and since Mum's birthday was handy, we gave them that.

Nora's birthday is May 5th. We got her sometime in July, though I can't remember exactly when.

Gus' birthday was the 4th of July.

Funny you should ask, today Dec. 6th is my Autumn's 1st Gotcha Day. Happy Gotcha Day little one.

Gotcha days would've been much simpler but I never thought of it til TCS.

I estimate both my cats were born around tax time (Apr.15)

I don't have exact days... not even for gotcha days... I know i got JoJo in February of 2003, early in the month, I think. She was estimated at 11 months, so I celebrate March as her birth month (March 2002).

Jack I got six weeks later, and he was 7 months old. roughly six months younger than JoJo. I estimate his birth month to be September 2002. He does NOT act his age... he's still a brat.

Chester's gotcha day is June 19, 2005.

He was left at the shelter on May 22, 2005. His papers say he was a year and a half old.

Based on that I estimate his birthday as some time in November and he is six years old.
