Good morning folks.

For some strange reason, I woke at 4 and couldn't get back to sleep, so here I am with the daily thread bright n' early.

I am going to try my hand at baking some shortbread cookies with my girls today. I've never made em before so

I have some snakes to clean n' feed. (too bad we didn't' have a snakie smile)

And I have to see where we are at for xmas shopping.

We put the tree up last night, with no decor to see how the kitties react. Well its been up about 8hrs, 5 of those hours we were in bed and so far so good. They had a good sniff, tried to eat it and got reprimanded for it, then left it alone. So

I will either try to nap today OR go to bed very early tonight.

I am not pleased that it looks like my insomnia is back

Have a good day folks.

Oh so someone else is up at this time of the morning!
'

My granddaughter has a piano recital this afternoon. I will go to that. Mostly just puttering around the house. Have to do a load of laundry. My DH will probably smoke a chicken for dinner tonight.

And one of the most important things, keep wood on the fire. Its in the 20's here this am!

Keep warm (or cold depending on your location).

Not up by choice LOL..... if I had my way, I would have still been in bed for another couple of hours.

The one advantage tho: I get some morning quiet time to me as everyone else is still sleeping... Disadvantage: waking at 4 is way too early for me.

Its current -4C or 24F here this morning.

Morning All!!!

A big thanks to Coolcat and Snake_Lady for covering my questions the last couple of days. Not sure what I had but am sure I don't want to get it again.

Cloudy and looks like we are in for more snow here. It certainly piled up the last couple of days.

Not up to much today, maybe sweep off my deck if I get the energy.

Do have to go to the corner store at some point to pick up a couple of things.

The kitties are watching the neighbor snowblowing his driveway.

Everyone have a great day

There's no place like home
I'm waiting for the stores to open then I have to run up to Petsmart, the grocery store and the hardware store. It's supposed to snow here this afternoon so I want to be out and back before the ugly weather hits.

I have a lot of embroidery to finish up today for family and friend presents (SS is done). I believe that someone from my Denver adoptive family is going to be driving thru my area later this week and I would rather hand them the presents rather than ship them. So I gotta get moving on some of this stuff. I've got 4 placemats, 2 shirts and a blanket to do today.

I'm going to make a big pot of soup this afternoon. I love the stuff on cold dreary winter days.

Woken bright and early by the roadworks outside. I actually got a fright thinking it was Monday and I had to check my watch!
Well, they're really far behind on the construction and have to chop chop to get it finsihed in time before winter really sets in.
I was surprised by the dusting of snow we got last night. It offset Mr Squirrel's black fur nicely as he sat chomping sunflower seeds on the balcony.
Not much planned for the day, although it is lovely and sunny out (chilly though).
Have a good day everyone!

Good morning everyone

Happy St. Nicholas day to those celebrating it...
My family celebrates it- my parents are making food and getting ready for a family gathering and even more fattening up this holiday season just after thanksgiving is over. Jake is sleeping on my bed and I have to get ready to write a paper again...I hope I get it all done today so I can focus on studying for finals the next three days. I don't have anything else planned for today, but I hope I don't get distracted with something

Everyone have a good Sunday!

On the west side of... of... somewhere.
Afternoon, everyone! It's been a slow, tired week for me. We're having what they call a 'cold snap' here... at the mid 30's... seriously? try -10 and we'll talk. I took a nice little walk over to Cash&Carry this morning and picked up some paper plates and a box of Lindor truffles for a party tonight.... then off to to party... starts around five... we all have to bring something... so since I was going to C&C anyway... I got some truffles.... hey we survived another year of crazy writing (NaNoWriMo), I think we deserve chocolate!

OMG what a looooooonng day! First DS was up at 4:30. Yea we weren't happy about that especially DH since he gets up with him on the weekends for me to sleep in.

We then ran to rite aid for my free stuff, pet store for food and medicine for Lucky, then shop rite for pumpkin which we forgot. Once we got home Lucky wasn't any better and Mom found drops of blood. We were home for 10mins and back out we went. The ER vet was wonderful and not busy. We left with pain medicine and a cup to collect a urine sample. No conclusion on what's wrong.

It's 6:40 and it feels more like 10pm
We never made it to see my cousin but he is coming here for dinner tomorrow (I hope).

DH is running the urine sample to the vet tomorrow.

Hello All!

Well I think I'm over the hump for this illness that I've had for the past week.
I did have a super stiff neck last night I think I hunch up when I cough. I didn't sleep really well but didn't get up until almost 8 am which is really late for me.

Anyhow we went out for a late breakfast then off for some christmas shopping. Came home, Neil hauled up more firewood by the house (even though the basement is full) and I finally quickly arranged 4 containers with evergreens and red tig dogwood.

We are supposed to get a couple rounds of snow starting tonite, the snowblower is ready to go, the truck has weight in the back-bring on the snow!!

Leftover soup for dinner with a bit of tv for tonite.
