Here are some of the new cats at the shelter. Some really great cats, and some who are looking at the near end of the Rainbow Bridge, I suspect.

Shelter Cats 12/5/09

Evee

Jordan (turned in after 4 1/2 years with owner)

No name. Think "Basement Cat" would fit?

An armful of fun.

Trouble on four feet!

Arizona has a racing stripe on her nose.

This is not Jeeves, but a newer, smaller female version.

I'm worried about this boy. He has a sore on one foot.

This boy (Little Bill) is a bundle of fun.

The one with the sore on his foot is gorgeous

Its so sad thinking they may be crossing the rainbow bridge, makes me very glad I volunteer at a no-kill shelter

I was taking pics at the shelter today too

OMG they're adorable! I LOVE Evee and the smaller version of Jeeves is beautiful!

I like striped Arizona and Jordan. Sad to hear he was given up --at least he has a few years of home-environment "knowledge" under his belt.

Arizona was an owner surrender, too. You can't see it, but she has a collar on, with tags.

I don't know if it is the same everywhere, or just in our area, but owner surrenders have just been out of control lately! I know that there will always be some, but we're getting them left and right and up and down at the moment. Makes me especially sad because you can tell the cat is just so confused, wondering what happened to their home? *Sigh*

BTW, the little kitteh in the picture titled "an armful of fun" with the patch over her eye just melts my heart for some reason!

Those two are part of a litter of four (you can see all of them at the flickr address up above). When they are let out of their cage to play, it's a scene of mayhem.

Owner surrenders are up, but not way out of proportion. We had a second wave of kittens this fall that almost killed us.

Jordan is beautiful.... s/he looks so healthy

That female sure does look like Jeeves eh..... On your link, there's one "moo kitty", white with a couple spots of black that I adore.

Gosh I can't understand how people can give up their pets! These kitties are lucky to have you caring for them, I hope they find homes before their time is up

I think I need to go down and put DNPTS on the little Jeeves kitten. She's young enough to be pretty ill with the URI, if it hits her, and I'd hate to see her put to sleep for it.

The "moo kitty" looks a little like our first cat, Snoopy. She's kind of shy, but a love bug once you gain her trust.

Jordan is a little overweight and needs some brushing, but he trusts people and wants attention. And you probably can't tell, but he has beautiful blue eyes (as you can see, he's actually a lynx point or something similar).

They are such innocents.

To think that some are on death row, is heartbreaking.

At least your photos bring them out of the shadows.
Sending love and hope to all.

I'm sending Petfinder adoption vibes your way! In the past 24 hours I got 2 cats adopted from their pics on Petfinder and just this morning within minutes of another of mine being posted someone emailed asking to start the adoption process. I'm still kinda in shock lol.

I just love the Jeeves look-alike! That ticked coat is really striking.
So sad for the cats who have been given up after years with their owners.
They must be so confused about it all.
Lots of vibes that they all get adopted before time runs out.
