A possum has become a very frequent visitor to the calf barn and I couldn't ignore it any longer so starting looking for food it could get.

Does this sound like a good "recipe" for him/her for 1 lb of food?

-1 ounce oats, brown rice, or millet
-1 ounce dried apple or 100% apple sauce
-1 ounce raw meat (just whatever I have for the farm cats)
-13 ounce mixed veggies

I'd make sure to mix a little fat from cutting up the meat in with it. Unlike your cats, the opossum may not show up every evening for it's meal and could use a little fat for winter.

I've noticed that it doesn't take long for a opossum to learn to come to kitty kitty, and that in the winter they'll come out before it even gets dark. I've had them come out at 4pm and wait a little bit aways for me to put a little cat food down.

Sounds yummy. Think I'll join him for dinner.

This sounds like approximately the proper ratio of ingredients since the ideal possie diet is approx 70 % veggies, 10 % fruit, 10 % grain and no more than 10% protein. Vary your protein to include chicken, chicken liver, fish, cheese, eggs and the such. Bless you for caring for this little one!
