The Cats Meow: A rewarding challenge to all...... see inside for details..

The challenge: Capture your cat(s) meow/chirps/voice on video.
The reason: I wanna hear the meows. After listening to my kitties this morning, I realised how different they all are. Now I wanna hear yours.

The prize: Aside from showing off your cat(s), I will give the first 10 people, 1000 points each. (post if you don't want/need the points, and I will give them to someone else)

Disclaimer: No kitties to be harmed in getting their meows..... annoyed yes, harmed no.

You may post as many vids as you would like, but you will only get the points once.

Clear as mud?

Lets see (I mean hear) those meows.

Awww!!They are both so cute! i don't have any videos at the moment and my camera doesn't make good videos but Jake sounds kind of like Kizzy..he does the low mrrrrrew too...
And he also likes to sharpen his claws on my legs Can you believe it, they think we're their scratching posts!!! Lol I am not sure if it's kneading or just sharpening claws...

I've never posted up a video before and I didn't have a way to edit it down, so this may be pretty bad. This is Tre begging for me to pick him up and put him on my lap. Only one meow, but that's what he usually sounds like. I spent a couple of hours trying to get Promise's little squeak, but she just wouldn't cooperate.

OK, here's another one of me feeding the guys. Pretty lousy video, but you can hear Thufir and Tiny's meows pretty well on this one. (Not looking for extra points, I just thought I'd add a couple more meows to the library.)

Yep, Tre's meow is very demanding. A lot like a baby's cry. He's hard to ignore.

Thanks. You can see her go running in front of me at the beginning of the feeding video. What you can't see is that she nearly tripped me running past me towards the bathroom. That's a big change. Before she lost weight she would only walk slowly in that direction each time.

Thanks. He really does love his food, so I don't think he can contain himself when the food goes down. You can't really see it on him since his fur is grown out, but he has lost about 4 pounds this year, too.



I finally managed to get a couple of Promise's cute little squeak/meow last night, so here it is for the sake of completeness. Pretty poor quality video, but she doesn't talk a lot, so I have to get what I can.

OK. I've tried several times to video Billy or Flowerbelle meowing. Tried to get Lazlo to meow at dinner. Of course, the minute I give up they'll meow.

I went to you tube to listen to more cats noises, since these were making my cats go crazy

Listen to this F1 Bengal cat!! My god what a cool noise this cat makes!! It is also such a beautiful catl!

Well, after plenty of trying, I finally got both cats' meows on record! Belle pretty much meows constantly, and Delilah is getting close. She never used to meow, but Belle has taught her that if she talks, she gets what she wants (specifically, pets!).

You'll hear me mention Belle's whiny meow - you hear a bit of it...she has a whine where she doesn't really meow - just kind of whimpers like a dog would. Delilah has what I call a "heartbreaker meow", which she lets out every now and then and it just melts my heart - I'll pretty much give her whatever she wants when she uses it because she just sounds sooo sad! I need to try to get it on video!

You did give it a good try tho I'd like to hear Delilahs meow sometime.
