yep...finally got tired of split ends up to my ears and just bent over, brushed all my hair into an upsidedown ponytail and started snipping. And you know once you start, you can't stop sp what started as a "trim" ended up as almost a "scalping". I did stop before it got too bad and went up to MIL's house so she could even things out. It doesn't look bad but I went from almost waist length to barely touching my shoulders. But at least it looks healthier and all the color is gone from my hair (shows how long it's been since I've colored my hair).

I'm now going to try to train my hair to part on the right side instead of in the middle because that just isn't a good thing.

I just chopped mine - I could sit on it and now it's at my shoulders.
The weirdest part is brushing it - it ends so abruptly!

But you have to use a lot less shampoo and conditioner!

I KNOW! Brushing it is just weird. It's like "what, that's it?". I also realize I have a nervous habit of gathering it into a pony tail and holding it on top of my head when I'm on the phone. Can't do that anymore.

I can't wait until after I take a shower tonight and try to put some gel in it. Hopefully it will have some of it's natural body back. It was just too long before and the weight just pulled all the body out of it.

Sorry, no pics. Just a spur of the moment thing.

Oh you go girl!
It must feel so light and funny now. And you will save a ton of shampoo!

Good for you!
It must feel so much better just to have that kind of change, just try an remember to pour less shampoo for the first few times - I always forget when I whack my hair off and get lather-world.

I'm cutting my hair off too! I let this one chick do my hair and I spent $200 correcting the color. It was a disaster! My poor hair was color treated 3 times in 2 weeks...talk about brittle hair! It felt like straw! I tried everything to save it. I spent lots of money on different professional deep conditioners. They seemed to help, but my ends are a lost cause. I have to chop my hair to my shoulders too. But I know what you mean about putting it in a pony tail and chopping it off too lol! A month and a half ago I did that to my bangs... what a disaster! They just kept getting shorter and shorter until I decided I had better stop and go seek professional help. I looked like I was in 5th grade for a while they were so short... lol! I will never attempt that again! It was terrible!!!

BTW - I did this 2 or 3 weeks ago. I noticed about 2 or 3 days after I did it that my neck was hurting. It still aches a little bit, but not as bad. I'm wondering - could the weight of the hair and the quick change affect our neck muscles? Gary thinks so and it makes sense - and I guess they're adjusting now, so that's why it's hurting less?

Let me know if you notice this! (Of course, my hair has been shoulder blade length or longer for.... 14 years? )
