Good morning, sorry I was a little late getting here.

Tis the season for holiday related questions

Whats the status of your gift shopping? Have you started? Are you done?

I have started, but I'm not where I should be- I really do perform best under pressure

I'm done. I only buy for mom and dad both are very easy to shop for so I just get it done and out of the way. I know that doesn't sound very holiday like but I am not a shopper by nature.

I'm not a big shopper either....especially at xmas time.... Too busy, and too germy IMO.

I have 2 daughters, husband and then we draw names on his side, so we have his mom and dad to buy for this year. 5 people in total, not bad.

My answer: I need to check the closet. I am one of those people who shops when things are on sale, then puts them away. The only one I have done for sure is MIL.... DH is a pain to buy for and I have no clue what I'm getting him.... DDs have been started.... and have not started FIL.

Shopping for the women in the family is easy. The teens get cash. The men?

I guess I have started. Been making lists and asking questions.

I am not done, not even started...
Not only do I have to shop for Christmas gifts but a lot of people I know have birthdays around the holiday too so I have so much to shop for...I will do it all online, I am NOT going to the malls to keep bumping into people and getting run over with their huge shopping carts..

I am done with my SS shopping and that has been mailed. I've also purchased 2 items for my son but that will be all of my shopping this year. Finances being what they are, I just can't afford to buy anything this year.

I have one cousin to buy for, my boss (but that's easy she'll love a bottle of wine) and maybe 1-2 more things for DBF. My mom and grandparents will have a donation made to a non-profit as their Christmas gift. Trying to keep things to a minimum since I haven't received any quarterly bonuses this year and my DMV tags are due in the beginning of January.

The only shopping I have done is my SS stuff. I don't actually have a lot else to do -- DH, stepson and SO, a few little friend things. There's time.

I have only bought a few gifts. I have to wait until I get paid on December 18 before I can finish my shopping.

Actually I stopped buying gifts for everyone years ago, just cannot afford to. I do buy for my one older sister. She has been like a mother to me all of my life so I never forget her. I usually do most of my shopping from QVC or HSN, don't like the world of malls and some crazed people :-) I'm just about done and now waiting for the packages to be delivered.

I haven't even started yet. I'm tempted to not even buy anything for the two older kids this year as they haven't been "good". They are 13 and 12. The thing that irritates me is that they are never appreciative of anything they get. They feel if we don't spend hundreds of dollars a piece on them then we don't care about them. My stepson is the worst. He just had a birthday and we put a $25.00 limit on birthday gifts..we have 4 kids. Well he got almost $150.00 in cash from his mother's side of the family..not to mention his mother spent over $200.00 on him and he felt as if he didn't get enough. My 13 yr old daughter only got one $20.00 gift and she was mostly content.

Sorry jumped on a soapbox..I'll get off now.

I have a few odds and ends to pick up, but not much. I don't really give a lot of gifts. My parents are impossible to buy for so I usually just buy them a stocking for their dog. I need to pick up a couple of things for a friend at work and my neighbor, but that's about it. I probably bought more for my SS this year (number of items, not $$) than I'll buy for everyone else combined and that's all finished.

Yeah, right, and I am the Queen of England.

I bought books and nothing else. I will get the sweaters later.

Oh, I am getting a laptop.

Rob and I already purchased (and our using) our gifts to each other. I bought him a 3/8 drive impact gun and an air ratchet for Xmas. He bought me a Sony Alpha 200 DSLR camera

My family is adamant on us not buying them anything because they are very strapped for cash and didnt want to get us anything. My in-laws are going to take us to Sam's Club to do some shopping for house stuff (TP, soap, shampoo, etc) for Xmas. We will probably get them a gift card to eat (though they keep telling us not to get them anything either).

The timing is pretty good, considering we're putting over $1500 into both of our broken cars that crapped out the day before Thanksgiving
Better to not have to spend a bunch more money.
