He's so cute! I wish I could take him but I have my hands full with three cats right now. I think that's a good idea to take him to the cat show because someone may be interested.

By the way, if there are a lot of strays on campus, you may want to start a TNR program in order to control the population. Stanford University had a huge problem with cat overpopulation but they successfully controlled it with an excellent program. Here is their website: http://catnet.stanford.edu/

The students banded together to save the cats and control breeding. It should be a model for other school campuses.

Try calling all of the no kills in the phone book, I believe FAPS is a no kill. Let them know he is utd & neutered, they may take him now, or for less $$$. Try the haven again, offer to volenteer.

God, I hope something works out.

The reason they want money is the cost of food/neut/shots since most cats they get are not neut/utd, now that he is neut/utd call and say "I have a neut/utd cat that needs to be adopted, I will donate $__ & a bag of cat food." Also look up barns & ask if they need/want a barn cat. I just got a wonderful idea, call Highland Animal Hospital, they always have "free to good home" cats on display in the office. I think Central Animal Hospital might too. Another vet to try is North Star, the vet in charge owns the barn next door, and she had about 10 barn cats the last time I was there. See if she will take in another.

I feel so guilty that I am RIGHT HERE, and I can't help.

Another good idea: Try listing him in the newspaper. You could put him in the pet section & the lost & found too.

Deff. call Highland though, that is my vet & they always have cats in the office that are up for adoption.

I hope he finds a home asap.

Here is a person wanting to give a cat a home:

Here is another who wants a ORANGE TABBY indoor only:

I hope he finds a home asap.

Yeah, I am trying to advocate for all of them. Even before I found this cat and had picked out Jack, mom has been wanting somebody to take in Top Cat. I didn't want to talk about it on this list because it is a touchy topic and still really don't want to say too much other than what I will say. Top Cat has been harassing Luna as he's getting older and it's gotten quite bad at times. Luna used to tolerate him when he was a kitten (still didn't like it then), but now you can hear her screaming at him constantly because she doesn't want to play his games. I pushed to keep them all because I want to give him a chance but he is really making it hard for Luna and my mother doesn't like it at all.

I am in a very tough spot right now and just want to do the right thing. I have to do what is best for all cats. I feel like a bad cat mommy no matter what.

Nial: I will PM you later tonight after I give it some more thought.

I really don't know if I can help him after the cat show. Anybody even want to keep him for a few weeks? I will provide food, litter box, and litter for him.

Edit: I'll even pay for his booster shots in about 3 weeks (he just needs to be taken somewhere that will take care credit. ALL he needs is a warm place to stay. I will provide everything else.

Did you try calling the vets to see if they can help find him a home? I am sorry, it sounds like you have alot going on right now. I hope you don't have to get rid of Top Cat, I know you love him.

I will keep thinking...

Mom and I have been talking more and more about this. I talked to her again on the phone after I got off work. I think I got her to consider having the three of them if he doesn't get adopted and if I promise her some extra $$$ from my tax and school refunds this coming semester. She told me 'she'll think about it' but her tone of voice sounded like I piqued her interest
. Let's hope for the best everyone. It really would be nice if TC had someone else to pounce on so that Luna doesn't get so pissed off.

So, just a spoiler here........

Mojito did the unexpected and held his own at the cat show, finaling in nearly every ring.
He's now got a bragging rights Title, as soon as Lianna can register him with TICA.

A little more "spit and polish" and this guy could go far.

Thank you Nial for all your support at the show. Mom and I are discussing what I need to do to be able to keep him, but it looks good for now. He is quite the little pest though - he hates the carrier and prefers to ride in the back of the car by the rear window. For longer trips and safety, I may have to pop up the sturdi cage. It worked for Mons who also hated carriers more than 5 minutes.
