Watch out, the silvers are coming ;)

Kuura, my BSH male became a daddy 24th Nov. I went to see the babies yesterday to check the colors and genders. Is there anything cuter than kittens?? (Well, Kuura himself of course..) I could watch them for hours!
I didn't remember to take any pics, but the breeder has some on their website and I was wondering if someone would like to give an opinion on the colors? There are 4 babies and I think two of them are shaded silvers and two silver spotted, what do you think? : pics on the breeder's site (Mommy is classic silver tabby and Kuura is shaded silver).

I'm hopeless colouring baby silvers until they're a wee bit older so I wont give my opinion They look so fat and healthy.

I looked at the kitten pile with the 4 kittens. IMO (since I can't see it clearly but going on the dark color) - three silver spotted and one shaded (the one that is the lightest color).

They are gorgeous, I love grey cats the best. I had a silver shaded persian many years ago & he was much lighter than those kitties.

Grey, or blue is not the same as silver

Thanks for the opinions, now we'll just have to wait and see.

These are all silvers with black, no blue. And you propably know that shaded silvers can look a lot like spotted tabbies when they are born, the markings will fade when they grow up. Kuura, the daddy of the litter, has excellent shading.

I did not know that, how long until you can tell if they are spotted or shaded?

It depends on how dark the kitten is, but they start to loose the pattern quite fast and usually it's easy to tell very early because they lack the contrast which spotteds have. The color develops very slowly after the kitten age and can take even few years to be 'ready'. Here is a good example pic of Kuura and his siblings, all are shaded silvers like their parents: link to pic (taken when they were born), and here the kittens are around 8 weeks: pic. I can't believe he was that small (he's the lightest kitten)..

They are beautiful kittens. I bet everyone else knows the answer, but what kind of cats are they?
