One more cat inside....sigh

A very sweet petite little black girl named Sheba has been staying on my porch lately. I've been feeding her since this summer down the street but a little over a week ago she showed up here and just stayed.
Yesterday she was nowhere to be found though. I didn't see her all day and her food remained untouched. I drove around looking for her but didn't see her. By the time I went to bed she still had not shown up and I was getting pretty worried.
Early this morning I had to run an errand and when I came out she was by my gate meowing and hopping around on three legs. She was holding her right front leg straight out. Apparently something had happened to her which is probably the reason she didn't show up all day. Poor baby. For some odd reason she tried to run away from me when I sat her down but since she was hopping on three legs I caught up with her and brought her back. I just couldn't risk having her leave and stay away with an injured leg so my only option was to take her in. I really don't have space for more cats and I can't afford it either but she's here so I have no choice. I have taken in several cats "temporarily" that are supposed to be let out once whatever problem they are having has been dealt with but of course when the times comes to let them out I just can't do it. So Sheba is probably going to be here for a while until I find her a forever home. I also have an awesome little guy recovering from a stomach issue in the garage and I really want to take him in too. I hate having to be in this situation. So many wonderful kitties and nobody else to help them. Sigh....

I just had to vent a bit. Thanks for "listening".

If anyone is interested in adopting a wonderful, fully vetted adult or kitten please consider one of my former or currently homeless babies.

You have a heart of gold, Lizita. Thank you for offering shelter, medical care, and love to all these homeless and hurting kitties.

Lizita, I don't know your situation or circumstances, but have you tried to hook up with a foster network? We basically bribed the vet techs at several animal hospitals we use (with lunches and chocolates and cookies and stuff) to become part of "our" foster network. The upside of that is that we were able to work out a deal to get discounted care for the animals, and (so far) they've gotten all of them adopted out through the vet, so they kind of automatically get adopted out to people with a good vet reference. Just a thought......

the bright side of this happening is, its a lot easier to foster a semiferale when shehe is injured or sick, and sought your help.

The big wide open window from the age of 3-7 weeks when it is easy to foster semiferales and ferales, does open again in these circumstances. nod:

As we said in another thread, this is usually possible also otherwise, but also usually more difficult.

Tx for you being there, and helping out this little sis of ours!

Varma hälsningar!
