This is Dodger. Dodger got his name because that is exactly what he does when anyone gets too close for his liking. Dodger is either a stray or a "drop off" at a park in a nearby town that I stop in from time to time. I'd seen him several times over about 2 weeks, but could never get close to him. But, there was always a little bit of food under the pavilion, and he looks healthy, so someone was looking after him.
Well, this weekend, I was lucky enough to finally meet young Dodger's adopted human. I promised not to use his name, or the location of the park (even thought I think he probably wouldn't have cared
), and he let me take some pictures.
He also said something that made me feel really happy for lil' Dodger. He said "When it snows I won't be able to come down that hill, so I guess he'll have to come home with me one day soon."
He has another cat, who has finally gotten used to Dodger's scent on his hands, and he has a utility room he can live in till everyone calms down.
Dodger was no doubt very happy with his new human, to include letting him pick up for for a few quick scritches. I think he'll be perfectly happy with his new home.
