I want to know if you have been through these symptoms.
I have 2 kittens around 6 mts old and a 6yr old cat. around 1.5 months ago my older cat "lexie" began having almost like diareah with mild bloody and muccusy . No change in diet or anything. It was not in her litter box but various places in the floor. She had lost some weight and looked sickly.

She went to the vet.
they said she had a fever of over 104 and were concerned. Her fecal test was fine but she looked sickly. they thought they knew what was wrong I cant remember the DX though. She was put on 2 antibiotics for 8 days.

They havent phased her at all. I called the vet they looked over the notes and said we think its one of 2 things both with bad outcomes. They told me to give her boiled hamburger with rice to see if it would help her poop firm up.
She wouldnt eat it and drank normal last night but didnt eat much at all.
She pooped 7 times in the house last night. she pees in her litter box though. She seems like she now has NO control over her bowels even goes in the crate. She hasnt eaten at all today even tuna!. She has drank very little. She looks like death.

Im taking her to the vet tomorrow but I cant afford to spend several hundreds of dollars on tests but I want to help her. With the vet saying it looks like a bad outcome scares me. Her not eating makes me thing its too far gone for her.

Any ideas of what it could be?

thanks for listening.

Welcome to the forum, Sandras. I'm so sorry it's under such difficult circumstances.

Sadly, this is one of those complex, serious cases that must be managed by a vet.

Please let us know how things go after you take Lexie in. I hope she gets better very, very soon!

I'm so sorry you are going through this. I lost one of my babies to a horrible disease this spring so I know what it's like.

As bad as Lexie is she really needs to get to the vet ASAP. If you can take her to the e-vet I think you should but if you can't please take her to the vet the first thing in the morning. Unfortunately it doesn't sound good though so please prepare yourself for the worst. For now I would just sit with her and try to make her as comfortable as possible.

I'll keep you two in my thoughts and I hope that Lexie will get better and not have to suffer more. Take care of yourself too.

Good luck

Welcome to tcs. Ty had really bad diarrhea and they gave him metrodiazole and wanted him on the science diet I/D to help. His stools firmed up after the treatment. He was going all over the house and the night we came home from the vet, the stool was bloody abs mucousy. You need to take Lexie in and try to find out what it wrong. I had to put Ty down a week after we went in for his diarrhea. I'd hate to hear this happen to someone else. I wish you the best of luck.

Sandras,

I see it's been about two days since you've first posted...and then nothing else.

I hope that your not posting is because you and your little are off having a really good time somewhere.

And I hope you were able to get your kitty to the ER the same night you first wrote here.
