Hi, new here.

I guess, I'm not a cat owner after the loss of Samuel yesterday, as he was our only cat. I however have grown up with 11 cats during the course of my childhood and adult life; all of whom were special and every one of their losses hurt. Sam was cat # 12.

Right now, the loss of Sam is a little raw so I have no plans at yet to get another cat. But eventually down the road when the grief isn't so bad, I will take a trip to the local humane shelter and see if we can give another cat a forever home.

I'm sure Sam would approve.

Welcome to TCS though I wish it would have been under better circumstances. I suspect that Samuel will lead another cat to you when you're ready. We've seen that many times here.

Welcome to TCS.

Every cat that we love burrows into our heart, making a space exactly his size and shape. When we lose them, that hole can never be filled by another cat, but they can fill a lot of it.

I know you're in shock over the loss of Sam, and it's easy to blame yourself, but you're not connected to the cat every moment, so you can't possibly fend off every danger.
