I am new here pls someone read this

My male cat is 18 yrs of age with Hyperthyroidism
he recently had a kidney infection , now his waist is protruding almost like a camel but sideways. Has anyone experienced this symptom with their cat? and if yes what is it?
Tomorrow Philly is going to the vets for some tests but now I just wanted some input from anyone here if possible.

I haven't had that experience, but just wanted to send you my prayers. Is he peeing, pooing, and eating as normal? Any change in disposition? Any chance you could call your vet for advice now, or an ER vet?

yes Philly is fine other than that peeing poop eating all is fine
