Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!

I haven't been in the holiday spirit - and found myself annoyed in the supermarket today at the Christmas music.

I am looking forward to December 17, the next visit to the neuro.

But I am looking forward to the New Year!!! Somehow it always feels like a fresh start, though we try to greet each day this way.

Most importantly, Cat, I hope your sister is right.

I don't know why but I am totally stressed out about Christmas. I am usually so excited and happy. I went shopping and got some gifts today, hoping it would turn my mood around. I am hoping when I make the gingerbread houses with the kids, and get some baking done I will feel a bit better about it.

Not so much this year
My family has moved away, part of DH's family decided not to do a family xmas this year, but I will be glad to see this year over as Laurie said. I too believe in the fresh start in the new year and with any luck it will turn things around.

I am of course excited for my children... a little hesitant as well because they won't be getting as much as normal.... I know they don't care, but, I do

I'm hoping to get into the spirit soon.... We'll put the tree up next weekend and hopefully that will help

I don't think I'm going to be having a very great Christmas this year. I'm going to be living and breathing my dissertation until it's finished (I've heard several people use the words "life consuming" to describe the experience) and I'll probably be stressing out pretty hard by the time Christmas rolls around. My "Christmas" will hopefully come in March or April when I hand the final copy in to the University. I'm already working on a plan to take a nice two-week vacation out West somewhere before I have to go get a real job (again).

I am ready. I have most of the presents wrapped/labeled, which is a big deal! Big family.

Also have cards ready, just waiting to get some holiday stamps on them.
I am saddened due to a recent loss, I made an ornament to remember. It is still not done though, and is something I have been avoiding. I haven't wanted to put a tree up, despite nagging to do so, because of this project. Just too painful.
But I am looking forward to spending quality time with loved ones.

Christmas is my least favorite holiday. It lasts toooooo long. My husband and I have all we need so we don't do presents. If we need something, we look AFTER Christmas.

We give our kids (they are grown and married) a little money to buy something for the kids and themselves. So we just sit back and let the madness in the stores go on without us! It is truly liberating to break away from the commericialism.

We do get together after Christmas so all the grandkids can see their cousins and grandparents and have a nice dinner. Isn't that what it should be anyway?

I love Christmas time. I love decorating and watching the cats sleep under the tree....or how Mancake climbed the tree when he was a kitten
. I just love all the activities going on around this time, like the Nutcracker is here and I LOVE the Nutcracker!! (the performance, ballet). I cant afford to buy many people gifts this year, and I know I may not get very much, but that doesnt matter to me. I look forward to Christmas dinner...yumm. I also love how I have a month off from school!! Which I really really need right now! I have this week, 3 days next week and then finals and then I am done! I just wished we would get some snow here for christmas...

I know a lot of people with December birthdays don't like the fact that it's so close to Christmas, but when I was little I used to love it! I'd pretend that all the lights and festivities were for my birthday, lol! My sister Linda always made sure I had a birthday cake, but birthdays were not celebrated much in my family, so even though I knew better, it was always fun to pretend people were happy and excited and decorating for me!

Actually this is the first year in ten years(since my dad passed away) that Ive been incredibly excited about the holidays!!! I met an amazing man(ftm) 10 months ago and things in my life have never been better, we get along incredibly well, relate to one another as if we've known each other forever!!! We had the most amazing Thanksgiving together and I can't wait until Christmas!!! He is taking me to the Bears/St.Louis Rams game on December 6th here in Chicago as my Christmas present! I still haven't came up with what to get him.

I really am this year because my parents are coming to spend Christmas with me here in Edmonton....Ive had a solo Christmas for the past 3 years because I couldnt afford the trip home, so this will be excellent. Im looking forward to making a turkey that will feed more than 2 people!
We have tickets for the Oilers vs. the Leafs too for Dec 30th, so will be great.

I just found out my sister, her husband and my nephew will be here for Christmas.
This will be the first Christmas in a long, long time the whole family will be together. Let's hope for a little snow for the Arizona relatives. My nephew wants some.

I'm excited to be spending Christmas with my first Grandbaby. Brighton will only be a little over a month old and he's not going to much care, but it will be magical for me! In fact he's going to be the major recipient of the presesnts, everyone else is an after thought!

Yes I'm really excited about Christmas. A lot of our staff are going away in December/January so it means extra work for me and this is good. I was hoping to have some little ones to raise [kittens] but unfortunately that wasn't to be. However I've got two litters due after Christmas.

I will not be buying Christmas presents before December 15th this year which is a bit disappointing but never mind, I'll get there. I'm looking forward to catching up with family. I wont be seeing all my family though because I can't leave because of my queens.
