I have my Christmas gifts stored in the guest room walk in closet. I put them on a high shelf, but I'm taking no chances with Daisy
, so I keep the door shut. Last night, I went in and heard a frantic pawing sound, like somebody was locked in the closet. I opened the door: no cats. Daisy was with me, so it couldn't have been her. Marshmallow was asleep on the cat tree, Siamie was in her cat bed, and Speck was in bed with DH. I'm thinking the maybe the central air was somehow making the door shake, though this has never happened before. Since my friend is a paranormal investigator and has scared me with talk of "transient" ghosts that just pass thru your house, the whole situation kind of freaked me out.
Still, I slept like a baby, so I guess no harm was done.

I've had what had to be some passing through at a former home. The place was not haunted but you could see the main town cemetery from the backyard.
I on a few occasions heard banging in the middle of the day, and the cats would freak out and hide.
I also had a couple odd shadow incidents.

Chances are it was either something in the home thats loose/rubbing or a combination of humidity + air pressure change causing it. Surely if it were a rodent your cats would have been at that door.

Don't let your friend scare you, though.

I don't really know how I feel about this subject, except if "they" are passing through please make yourself at home and don't let me know it!
I can just really take a little noise and really freak myself out!

Me, too! I mean, I don't really know how I feel about this subject. But my friend has played some voice recordings he's made that almost curled my hair. I know him to be a very truthful person, and I don't think he's making them up.
Then my other friend, who didn't know him except thru me, took a recorder into the nursing home where she worked and got some audio there. Probably a major nursing violation, but no harm was done and no resident's privacy was compromised. I think there was a logical explanation for the noises I heard, but it sounded like a big animal in my closet! Cat or dog or racoon or bear.

I've heard some pretty creepy EVPs, too, several years ago. I was living in a very active haunted house at the time - so a couple of them was all I could handle. I heard enough stuff in that house without needing to scare myself with those.

If you're truly worried have your friend check it out - and tell him to quit scaring you!

I scare soooo easily so I am happier to ignore any freaky little sound I hear.

:x

Or send Cody to check them out...

For some reason, I go to investigate. Just like the people that don't fare so well in scary movies....
