Last night I was not able to sleep, tossing and turning and just getting frustrated. My 9 month old kitten has a few night-time quirks that I am used to and she tends to act up more when my older neutered male cat is locked in with my breeding cats. I leave him in there sometimes since they all love each other and it's a nice diversion for them. Late at night my kitten will sometimes walk around on me, sometime flop down on my pillow and head to sleep, balance herself on some part of me where she will fall off if I move, attack imaginary monsters under the covers in the hopes that I will wake up and play, or drop her toys on me to see if I feel like playing fetch. If it's early enough I'll play with her, but if I feel like sleeping, ignoring her will make her stop.
Last night I felt her jump onto the bed and walk up to the back of my head. I was just wondering what trick she was going to try when *splat* a very, very wet cat toy was dropped onto my cheek. It rolled down the pillow and under the covers and I was frantically trying to get it away from me as it was COLD and icky. I got it off my bed and rolled over to show her I wasn't in the mood to play when I heard a *tink" and then *glug glug* as she tipped my half-full can of diet coke down in between the bed and night table. I couldn't get it out before the whole thing emptied under my bed. Since my alarm and light cords run under the bed, I quickly unplugged them and laid there, laughing.
Meanwhile, she was marching up and down me, purring and looking into my face to see if NOW I was ready to throw toys for her.
