I'm going to strangle her--just as soon as I can get my hands on her

You've heard about the best laid plans. So this is how my day started. The plan was to leave at 9:00 to make a 3-hour drive to my folks to spend Thanksgiving with them. At 8:50 I dished out the wet food thinking I'd know where all the kitties were before I loaded up the car. I got mobbed by 4 kitties, but no Cali.

I put the stuff in the car, then spent about 20 minutes looking for Cali. Then I decided to make a quick trip to the bank and stopped on the way home to put air in my tires, figuring Cali would have made an appearance by the time I got back. No such luck.

I spent another 45 minutes looking for her, searched the entire house at least three time, checked all the closets including the ones I knew I hadn't opened today, opened up the hide-a-bed, then had to chase the other cats out so I could close it again. I even went out to the car and opened my suitcase to make sure she hadn't crawled in there.

I was getting pretty desperate because I really needed to get on the road but couldn't leave without knowing where Cali was. The friends who are coming in the feed the cats and clean litter boxes will not expect to see her. She always does a disappearing act for anybody except me.

I don't know why it took me so long to think of it, but I finally had a bright
. I got a flashlight and shone it under the piano lid. There was Cali, tucked in very neatly as far back as she could get, looking very innocent.

She is in so much trouble.
But she's going to have to wait for her punishment until I get home on Saturday. Then just as soon as I can catch her I'm going to wring her neck.

OMG! So made me LOL! Who new she was a musical genius, in an unexplored territory
! THAT WAS TO FUNNY!

All along I was thinking how could anyone be mad that they couldn't find their kitty, I would be freaked out! Little did I know, she was listening to you look for her the whole time! She didn't want you to go away!

Ari did that the other day. I got him out by opening the front door. He ran in hoping I would leave it open so he could bird watch through the screen door.

Naughty kitty! She knew you were leaving and was voicing her displeasure in her own way.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Oh, my. Cali sounds like Larry.

Last New Year's Day I spent over an hour looking for him, everywhere I knew he usually hid. I even got the security guards in my high rise involved!!! And he had found a new hiding place during the 10 days I had left him for Christmas.....under the quilt.

He did the same thing as Cali when I finally realized there was a lump under the quilt and lifted up a corner. He looked at me all innocent, like, "What? What is up with you?! Why are you bothering me?!"

I'm glad you found Cali. Those moments of checking frantically are really wild, but it's so wonderful when they end up just doing their cat thing.....napping somewhere.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hate leaving when I don't know where the kitts are - but I've never had to leave the house and come back home to continue looking! Ellie has found some new hiding places but I've discovered them, thankfully, while I was home for the night!
