Hey peeps, sorry I haven't been around for a while...life seems to be getting pretty busy for me, and now something else has been added to my pile!

I have recently begun my application for University, to study the Adult Nursing Diploma for 3 years
, and I have reached the section known as the 'Personal Statement' where I have to write about myself, my interests, why I want to go to Uni and why I want to be a Nurse....and my mind has gone blank!
I don't know what to write to be honest.

Any ideas or advice would be great
Thanks!

We can't really answer that for you. But I would suggest you jot down a few things as a "list" to get you started - then go from there. Good luck

I think the list is a great idea. It'll get your mind rolling. Maybe when you decided you wanted to become a nurse? What you think the challenges would be? What qualities do you have that would help you in nursing? I've found once I answer a simple question like that my mind just rolls on to other things.

Good luck!

Another thing to think about is what you bring to the table - what qualities, traits, other training, experiences in your life will make you an asset to the program you're applying for?

What things do you think their program will offer you? Why are you applying with them specifically?

You have to write an essay in your application to nursing school? Ick

BTDT with the application process. I'm in the US, and the diploma program I'm in only asked for high school, college transcripts, and I had to take a test called the NET.

Good luck with the application. I'm 2 weeks away from finishing my 1st semester. It has been the HARDEST thing I've ever done. I've had a ton of stress, clinical has had it's ups and downs. However, I still think this is what I'm being called to do (and you have to have the calling) and it is a wonderful career choice

I think the main thing is to be sincere and hopefully going into it for the right reasons, i.e., it is something you really want to do. Sincerity will shine through.

Just to update you all, I have finally completed my personal statement, and it's now ready to be a part of my application.

Still can't believe it took me 6 days! But so glad it's done now

Yay! Good for you. I`m terrible at writting those sections. Good luck with your application. A friend of mine suggested we do nurse training but I decided I cannot be nice to people all day!
