This is a picture of my female, Mittens, who was spayed on Tues. I called the vet about the bump and they said it was the inside stitches. I can't tell if the dried blood is new or was there. Didn't notice it when I got her home. Since she has cleaned all of the betadine off, it shows up. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Nancy

It's a little hard to tell by the picture
The small lump may be normal, but I am not there to feel it, so I wouldn't say for sure. It does look VERY bruised and I havn't really seen dried blood like that in a routine spay. You really might want to have another vet take a look to be on the safe side

Thank you. She has cleaned all of that brown off and it looks clean and nice. The incision is different than what I am used to. I expected a long suture but this looks like a button hole.

Well, I finally just insisted that I bring her to the vet. It turns out she has a "little" infection and was given a shot and a bottle of drops. Now, how do I get the drops into her????

If she's easy going, you can usually just put them in your lap, gently open her mouth, and put the dropper between her back teeth and drop it in. If she's rough, you would do the same thing, but you may have to wrap her in a towel
