My husband's officemate subscribes to a local farmer's market service. She is going to be out of town this week so she gave us this week's delivery. Most of it is some sort of squash. I have no idea what they are so I have no ideas for preparing them. Do you have any ideas?

You have two acorns, a hubbard, and a couple pumpkins. I'm not sure what the big guy is though

Any squash can be roasted in the oven by poking a few vents then tossing it in!

I'm not sure you can actually make anything out of the mini pumpkins but I'd be really interested if anyone has a recipe!

In the snow!!!!
The two smallish green ones seem like acorn squash to me. My favorite way of preparing those is like this:

Cut the acorn squash in half
Scoop out the guts and discard seeds and stringy goo until you get to a smooth consistent squash material.
Take a knife and carefully make little stab marks careful to not pierce the outer skin or your skin
Coat the inside with marg or butter, be generous and try to encourage some of the marg or butter into your cut marks
Sprinkle fresh ground pepper, salt, and garlic powder to taste
Place a piece of saran wrap over each of the two halves with the edible area facing up (it should look like a bowl)
Place your squash halves in a microwave and nuke for about 10-13min
The squash should be consistently soft enough to scoop with a spoon

I just put the halves into a bowl for me and a bowl for hubby and enjoy them like that.

The orange ones look like small sugar pumpkins, the small roundish greens are acorn squash.
The large roundish green is possibly a pattypan.
The oblong looks like Delicata, but the color is wrong.

Maybe some sort of hubbard? There's several varieties. I can't tell if there's any blue tint to it from the picture, but the shape looks like a hubbard.

On the big roundish one is a BUTTERCUP!! (duh! I knew I recognized it!

Winter Squash

I'm quite sure your acrons are actually Tay Belle - the variety I'm growing next year.
