I have 7 senior cats who are all inside. They sleep most of the time as usual. They have bird feeders and a nice tree and steps up the wall to an over head tram. They have their moments though. They do play with each other and get rowdy now and then.

I had been feeding wet, switched to dry to economize. Due to health issues I want to go back to wet.

Question: How much wet food and how often. I feed three times a day. 4am, noon and 5ish. They do not have free access to food. Is three 5.5 cans twice a day and 2 at lunch sufficient? I would really like to cut out the noon feed and give those cans at either breakfast or dinner. They are all of fine weight except for my hyperthyroid cat Arthur. He is on the thin side, but does get thyroid meds daily.

I also have a diabetic who is a bit heavy, but is doing fine on insulin and is actually the one who instigates play with his buds.

I just went out and bought all my wet food and I am going to ditch the junk I have been feeding.

Thanks for any suggestions. Shannon

My one non-raw eater eats wet only and gets 6 oz a day. Your numbers come out to 44 oz a day for 7 cats = 6.2 oz a day per cat. So that's about the same as what I feed.

I'd be sure to feed low carb (I prefer < 10% even though mine don't have diabetes) wets due to the diabetic kitty.

Thats good enough for me! I feed my diabetic from the diabetic cat site food list. The math with the guaranteed analysis deal. This is going to be so much easier. I won't have to feed my diabetic seperately anymore.

Thanks for the info.
