I have a group of friends I hang out with most weekends, mostly we drink, play rummy, BS and devour the very best cuisine that the guys cook up.

On Halloween, I met the wife of one of our crew, first time I'd met her and I absolutely adore her as a person, there isn't an ounce of ugly in her.

On Friday, as she was driving from Vegas to party with us, she rolled her car just 16 miles away.
We have no clue what happened.
Everything was ejected from the car, everything except her, she was thankfully wearing her seatbelt.

However, her head injuries are serious.
We have no idea yet how bad she is, and won't know until the brain swelling goes down.
She is awake, and in a lot of pain, but does not know how to swallow, and does not remember her husband.
She is first gen. Italian, Brazilian born and has no family aside from her husband, and he has no one aside from her.
He's simply beside himself.

Aside from her injuries, his job does not give paid time off and he has not left her side, which is as it should be.
Her car is completely totaled, I was in tears when we went to get her personal items from it, and only carried liability since it was paid for.
He will not suffer monetarily, as enough of us love and care for them enough to handle that if need be, but it's still an extra blow on top of everything.

If you could, please, this couple could use every bit of the strongest vibes and prayers.

Thank you all, really, it means a lot to me, the whole group is like a second family to me.
If she's still in ICU next week, another friend and I are going up to Vegas for the night to offer Leonard our support and any help he might need.
If she's not in ICU, I can only pray that it is for a good reason and not the alternative.

I think my other friend and I really need a night away from the park as well.

I'm so sorry this happened -- many good hopes that her edema will dissipate and she'll have no lasting damage...

Thanks everyone, it really means a lot to me.

I did get an update about an hour ago.
They had her out of bed and walking, and she is swallowing now.
She still doesn't know who anyone is, but she hasn't reverted back to speaking Portuguese, which is a good sign that the memory loss is temporary.

As of now her chances of making it are pretty good, but guarded since we're dealing with a pretty massive head injury.

Just got an update on Gabi.
She's improving every day and is slowly starting to regain her memory.
