Not too long ago, Kai Bengals was kind enough to provide me with a dog igloo (I got a kick out of the fact that it is literally shaped like an igloo!) for Sissy to use to take shelter in colder weather.

She didn't seem TOO interested in going into it at first, but one day when it was raining out, I caught her sitting just inside of the opening to it, looking out at the rain.

On another occasion, I placed a dish of wet food inside it for her, and she readily went inside to eat.

She had been sleeping on a thermal bed mat inside a small dog kennel that I'd covered with a heavy blanket on three sides, but that wasn't going to be enough for her in colder/wetter weather.

A couple of days ago I was fortunate enough to get a nice, thick, queen-sized used comforter (and a couple of small matching pillows) from Freecycle, and I stuffed that inside the igloo, making up a seriously cozy bed for Sissy to snuggle up on/into, using the pillows to help line the sides, so she's got a nice little cat nest, I mean den.

It's in the 40s, cold and raining today and will be for most of this week. Sissy comes to the front door to get fed on the front porch, and then she goes and climbs into her nest to nap. When I peek out the back door, I can see just her face in the blankie.

I think she likes it.

I have friends who tried to bring a cat in like you, but also had to let him back out. So he was neutered, vaccinated, and now has a dogloo like Sissycat. They also added a heated pad and water dish.

Glad Sissy has a warmer and waterproof shelter now.

Either way, she's one lucky girl.
I've tried, but she just wants nothing to do with the other cats, especially now that Max decided to get all "street" back on her.

I live on a dead end street with very little traffic, and Sissy is always in the back or the front yard, so I feel fairly secure that she's as safe as she can be, considering the circumstances.

I know she enjoyed sleeping on my bed, but her refusal to use the litterbox is a problem.

As the weather gets colder, I'll try again for sure, but for now I think she's doing very well. She's looking very healthy and is a pleasingly plump little girl, now. Big difference in just two months.
