Okay, so I may have been half-asleep when I was watching this special on American Curls, but I thought they said the hair that sticks out of a cat's ears is called "ear furniture".
Wonder if that's all cats or just American Curls? If it's all cats, my Marshmallow is ear furniture rich!

I love the mental imagery of "Ear Furniture"!

Is the ear hair of old guys referred to as ear furnishings? Or is it only cats?

I don't know. But if it is, my evil boss has enough ear furnishings to open up a retail furniture store. And he's not really that old...so it couldn't be considered antique furniture.

Yep furnishing. I've also heard it called feathering although feathering more often refers to the 'fringe' on other parts of the body like the legs.
