My crew is pretty okay in the kitchen. They wait patiently for their breakfast but sometimes they will argue among each other (face slaps, hissing, going after the dog) if the food is taking too long.

Yup - both my babies are kitchen kitties.

Lil' Britch has a thyroid condition so we have to give her meds that we wrap in turkey...well....she thinks it's ALWAYS "turkey time" -- I swear, she guards the kitchen door. She begins to holler at us from down there every morning the MINUTE the coffee pot starts up!

My calico, Lois, is catching on to "turkey time" but she's more interested in the kitchen faucet than anything else...

My babies have free run of everything in my apartment; counter tops, tables, cupboards, whatever they can access. The one downside is that Sasha and Oliver like to hop in the fridge when they get the chance.
Of course, I act all perturbed when they do it, but then I quickly realize it's the fault of a very enabling dad.

Smudge is my kitchen boy. He's too big for the counters, but he really likes to either stand right behind me or just lie in the middle of the kitchen, which isn't all that big because of the kitchen table. If I'm making something, like mixing or making a sandwich, etc., he comes over and streeeeetches his paws up to see if I will show him what I'm doing! It's really very cute.

Noooooo.

I am scary woman in the kitchen! I LOVE to cook but I hate it when animals or people get in my way! Even my 18m/o son knows if mommy's in the kitchen it's time to go find daddy to play with!!

After a few "GET OUT OF MY KITCHEN
!!!" towards my dogs I think the cats got the right idea. Otherwise they'll get a slap on the butt or a gentle poke from a foot to give them the right idea.

Awww... That's cute though. Sho doesn't do that, however. If he did, I'd probably coo for the cuteness factor. ^^; Well, he does follow me to the kitchen, but he follows me anywhere and everywhere so I don't think that counts.

He doesn't ask for food either but I do occasionally call him over and offer him a piece of fish or something from the table.

SERIOUS kitchen kitties, all three.

And they don't even get "people food".

Cats, domesticated 1,000's of years ago with the help of food................and, the process is still ongoing
