I haven't bothered posting more ACORN scandals, undercover prostitute video's or voter registration fraud and all that because, frankly, I thought that, by now, everyone would realize the ACORN really is pretty bad.
But now, since there has be about 10 or more undercover video's and voter registration fraud in 14 states and ACORN has the GALL to sue the undercover guy and girl posing as pimp and prostitute I thought a little update was in order.
The link below is to an article from May, 2009 when Rep John Conyers (D-Michigan) called for an investigation of ACORN due to all the voter registration charges. But, lo and behold he, VERY SUDDENLY, changed his mind regarding the investigation.
Gee, I wonder who leaned on HIM.

Then all the sex tapes come out and the ca-ca hits the fan. But of course, some on the far left just keep defending ACORN, such as this columnist for the LA Time

The above quote is on page 2 of the LA Times article. I can agree with that statement. And right after that little statement I quoted, they give Fox News a smackdown for this ACORN thing. Just wait it gets better. The article goes on to say the following:
Now, remember that name, Lavelle Stewart.
And watch the latest undercover video starring, you guessed it: Lavelle Stewart.

Ms. Lavelle Stewart offers to do research for them on how to help the prostitute and pimp.
And the author of the LA Times article, Mr. James Rainey, that said
Well, I imagine Mr Rainey is hiding in a hole right about now. Not to mention Ms Lavelle Stewart with the faulty memory.

| After listening to detailed testimony on voter fraud allegations and questionable financial transactions connected with ACORN no less than Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.), chairman of the Judiciary Committee, called for a possible investigation. Conyers called the accusations "a pretty serious matter" after listening to Heidelbaugh's testimony. "I think that it would be something that would be worth our time," he said. "We've never had one person representing ACORN before the committee. ... I think in all fairness we ought to really examine it." [... But it would now seem that Conyers has backed off and there will not be a congressional investigation into ACORN’s activities. “Based on my review of the information regarding the complaints against ACORN, I have concluded that a hearing on this matter appears unwarranted at this time. |

| And visits to other ACORN offices have gone almost entirely unmentioned. Lavelle Stewart, a fair-housing coordinator in the group's Los Angeles office, told me this week that she tried to get the "prostitute," who claimed she had been beaten by her pimp, to go to a women's center. "The fact she was not taking the help I offered her made me think something was not right," Stewart said. "It raised a red flag." |
