I start my new job on Monday. Monday to Friday day shift from 8am to 4:15pm, save for 2 of those days (Tuesday plus one other day that I don't know yet), where I have to stay until clinic is finished.

I have an appointment with a glaucoma specialist at the beginning of February which was scheduled months ago. I haven't told the new manager as yet because I had forgotten about it until today when I looked at my calendar.

Now today another doctor's office calls me to try and set up an appointment towards the middle of January! My doctor sent me to a gynaecologist last month, who sent me for an ultra sound a week ago. Now she wants me to follow up in her office in January. The girl who called couldn't even tell me what the follow up is regarding....the initial PAP exam in the office or the US results. I asked if it was just to review the US results or if it's for another office exam and if it was just to review the results if that could be done over the phone.

She was rather rude and told me that the doctor wants to see me in her office in 6 weeks. I explained my predicament about starting a new job that is weekdays and that I can't start missing work, especially during the probationary period. She said "Well! Can't you just leave early!?"

Since I have to have the day off for the glaucoma specialist (mid morning plus pupil dilation) I figured that maybe I could book the gynaecologist early morning before that appointment. Turns out she is in surgery that day and won't be in the office at all!

So now here I am with a doctor bugging me to make an appointment that I don't know what it's for, and starting a new job where I have to take time off work in order to see a doctor. Before it was so easy.... I had days off during the week to take care of such things, but no longer.

My eye doctor will be wanting to see me after the glaucoma specialist sends in their results. Not sure when that will be but I'm thinking probably March, so I'm thinking that I will make both the eye appointment and gynaecology follow up for the same morning or afternoon so that I'm not missing time on multiple days.

Ugh!!!!
