Hi Folks,

I did a little shopping around for a good cat forum, especially for stray & feral cats. I picked this one because all of you sound so helpful and seem to be a very good group of people and I was amazed at all the expertise here.

I had to laugh a little when I read, check in to the section for new cats on the block. Well.... I'm more or less an old tom cat but young at heart. Looking forward to the camaraderie here.

Are you a guy? If so, we're in the minority here, but where else can you go and have the ratio of girls to boys be 20:1?

Welcome - you're at the right place!!! I found this forum too when Googling for advice on stray/feral cats. I'm working on socializing a kitty now myself.

Welcome to the boards!

Hi killerapple,
Thanks for the welcome. I'm going to look up your thread on socializing your kitty, I might get some more pointers. This is all kinda new to me but i'm learning fast about kitty behavior. I find it very interesting and rewarding especially when the cat responds in the right direction. Good luck with your guy.

xocats,
Thank for posting the link and the encouragement with my feral.

Hi Dilly,
A big WELCOME to you too. This is a great place isn't it. Have fun.

Hi John,
Thanks for the welcome. I'm so envious, one of my boyhood dreams was to own a bobcat. 37 days ago I captured a feral tabby cat that is about as close to a bobcat as i'm going to get. Are your bobcats tame enough to bring in the house? They are so beautiful. I looked at many of your pix and the bobcats are big now. I bet there alot of fun to play with. Is your cougar friendly? I assume your wife likes cat too. Fortunately mine does.

Hey Pete
Yes, our bobcats do live in our house along with our domestic cats. They do however, have a large outdoor enclosure to go into as well. Our largest bobcat boy weighs close to 60 pounds now. Will loose some of that weight during the hot summer months. Our cougar? He is a BIG purr baby.Yes, he is very friendly, always willing to greet anyone he sees with chirps and purrs. We don't however, let anyone other than ourselves, to go in with him. We never forget that he is a cougar. I fully respect all my wild cats for what they are and never force myself on them. But to share our lives with these great cats, is truly a gift from God.
