We are about to move into a house about to close escrow, and needed a new refrigerator to go with the other stainless appliances. Been shopping for weeks, but just found the bargain of the century at Lowe's - Samsung french door with water/ice in the door - $1398 in stainless and lower if black or white. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...RF26XAERS&bc=c

This is about $1,000 less than similar models. This is a special sale until 11/23. Just thought I'd pass it on in case anyone else is shopping for a new one.

If you're moving into an older house, check to be sure it fits. Most of the new refrigerators are a little bit larger than they used to be, so the manufacturers could add more insulation without reducing the inside space.

House is only 2 yrs. old, and we measured carefully. No problem! But in some new homes like one we almost bought, a "counter depth" refrigerator is a necessity, and they usually cost much more for less space.

Lowe's sale was so good, we went back and bought a new washer & dryer, since we just noticed our 13 yr. old washer is leaking. We also had a 10% off coupon, so we saved a bundle.

I'm so excited! We had been shopping for weeks, and now we got the fridge plus new washer and dryer (front loading, energy efficient) for the price we were going to pay for just the fridge! And we had a 10% off coupon that just came in the mail! The washer and dryer will be sitting on the floor because we weren't about to pay $200 each for the pedestal drawers that raise them up. We will just bend. Good exercise!

New TVs are even more exciting than a new fridge! We're getting an almost new house that we lucked into at a very good price, so it's fun to plan to "customize" it to our taste. Got the TV about 2 yrs. ago. LOVE IT!
