Sylvester was an indipendent cat and living on a farm he would usually stay out till late, but he loved his home comforts and would always come home to his warm bed and evening cuddles.
Last night I called and called him but no sign, so at half past midnight I had to go to bed worried, on the odd occaision that this has happend before he is usually wating at the door in the morning. Not this morning so I went off calling and searching for him, I found him dead in one of our back fields, he had been hit by a car and dispite having horrific injuries he had tried to get back home and had managed to drag himself about 30m down a bank and through brambles and then into the field. I feel so so sad that his last breath was alone and in pain.

I have burried him with all the other cats that I have loved and lost, so he is reunited with his brother and old friends.

I know what he meant to you, and I am so sorry for his loss in such a horrific way. Try as we might, we cannot always protect our cats if we want to let them express their natures, and Sylvester was one of those cats who needed his independence. RIP boy, run free at the Bridge.
