I walked in the door Sunday and my wife Becky was sitting at the patio door. Sasha and Marlow were sitting with her and looking out. "Look what's on the deck" she said. "GROAN" I said, "don't tell me we have another cat already".
Sure enough, but this one was wearing a collar with a tag. I went out and coaxed him near with a piece of tuna. His name was Toby and there was a phone number. I called his mom and left a message. Then I went in and did a phone number search and discovered he lived only a few doors away. about two blocks in this neighborhood. I was worried he could have been far from home. Mom called and I told her I sent him home.
It was real handy that the phone number was a published number listed with the address. A cell phone number would have returned no results and I would have had to catch Toby and wait for the call to be returned.
Toby was back this morning so I scolded him and told him to go home.
