If you know who Joshua Bell is, you'll be pleased to hear he has out a new CD. It's mostly popular music, played with various friends.

Here's an example:

Eleanor Rigby

He was on the Diane Rehm show today.

I think Joshua Bell is very talented, he plays beautifully..
although I have to say I did not like the arrangement of Eleanor Rigby, I am not sure what happened there

Most people don't even know they've heard him, but his music is in a number of movies (including all the violin music for "The Red Violin").

I have just about worn out his CD "Short Trip Home," and you know how hard it is to wear out a CD!

Joshua Bell is good stuff, indeed. (I knew that before I knew that my Supervisor is his aunt.) He does lovely work. And for those who don't know the Red Violin, if you are at all interested in classical music/ violin, this is well worth seeing, and Bell's work in it is lovely.

And he plays a Strad, which has been stolen twice in its history. Once back in 1937 or so, and once from him.

Here's a video from "Short Trip Home."
