Just venting.
I have a guy friend that I love very dearly (as a friend).
He's a flake and I know he's a flake, so the feeling like a fool bit is all on me.
Last night he asked if I'd help him clean his floors and ride up to the seasonal swap meet at the casino with him.
Sure, of course I will, I'm his friend.

I spent the night at his house, not unusual, fully clothed sleepy cuddling and TV watching till we just fall asleep.

4am rolls around and I tell him I have to go, can't be starting a scandal here.

I ask him what time I should come over for the floors/trip to town and he tells me 2pm.

So 1:55pm rolls around and I get dressed, lock up and walk over.
He's not even home.

This isn't the first time he's done this kind of thing and he is a truly forgetful person and I should know better, but no, I always look forward to hanging out with him so I fall for it, every single time.

I think I need to sit him down and tell him how very foolish he makes me feel by doing this (I'm certain he has no clue), and nag on him some more to just get a phone so I can call instead of walking all the way over there.

Why not just tell him to pick you up when he is ready and then you won't be going over to find him not home?

True, I have no neighbors with nothing to do but gossip, not that I care, but he does.
No big thing really, it's not just the not being home, he just completely flakes out of everything we plan aside from hanging out and watching TV and drinking beer.

I was actually surprised a few weeks ago when he remembered he'd promised my mom he'd come visit her and he actually got in my truck and let me take him over there.
I really think he has issues with being outside of his comfort zones, reminds me of myself when my depression was bad.

Of course, being the friend I am, I'm going to continue to try and get him out doing stuff, even if it's only hanging out with other friends and having a beer.
