I have had Indie only for a short while. The first few days he was very very shy and terrified but I have been spending a LOT of time with him and its like he is a different kittie now - hence his name!
He is named after Indiana Jones because he is an explorer.

However, this coming week at work I am involved with a conference and will be out all day and most evenings as I am one of the organisors. I will be able to come home about 6pm every day but will be out again. I am worried about leaving him alone all day. I know eventually he will be left alone but I adopted him at the right time as after next week I am off for a month and a half and hopefully we will spend a lot fo time together, I want to make sure I spend time with him before he becomes an adult.

What should I do? He has plenty of toys and I will feed him in the morning before I leave. Should I unduly worry?

Take an old pair of sneakers and throw them on without socks and just wear them until they get nice and sweaty. Throw them in a ziplock bag and before you leave, give him one of the sneakers on the floor. When he misses you he can curl up next to your scent and know you are *still* around

Thanks Hissy, I don't think I have an old pair of sneakers but will clothing do?

clothing works just fine, just be sure and lay it right next to your skin and get it nice and sweaty.
Also playing classical music on low all day will help soothe him as well.
