I changed my television service to something new that my phone company was offering. I had digital cable before and taped things using my VCR.

It's still digitial, but it's HD tv and this PVR service bypasses the VCR and allows me to tape without a VCR, and it also allows me to pause and rewind "live tv", which I think is the cat's meow!!

Unlike with my VCR that had to be on the channel I was taping, with this PVR I can be watching one thing and taping 3 other things at the same time. And if I had another TV I would be able to watch what I taped using my living room tv on another one in the house. It's also way easier to program to tape a show. Simply locate the show and pick "record series" and it will automatically tape that show whenever it's on. And I can record 120 hours of shows instead of relying on a 6 hour video tape.

It's free for 6 months so I thought I'd give it a try. After 6 months it's an additional $8.00 on my monthly bill. So far I like it a lot and will probably keep it.

Yep, I LOVE IT!!!! Can't live without it

I have it through Direct TV, which is not only cheap, but also offers me my Brasilian Channel
I saved a LOT of money since switching from Cable... Cable is insanely expensive and Direct TV offers much much more, especially if you have an HDTV.

I love the skip through commercials button!

And I love being able to see what is on another channel, without having to tune to that channel, by opening the guide and highlighting the station I want to peek at. Up pops a corner window previewing the show. And the see through guide/menu is awesome!
