I recently rescued a litter of kittens and alas they have an upper respiratory infection. We have done the antibiotics and eye sauve and still sneezing. I was wondering if anyone knows how long they are infectious and how long it lasts. Any other suggestions would be greatly apprectiated. Also one kitten seems to be fine is it possible that one kitten could escape being infected?

Depends on what kind of virus/infection it is. But if they've already finished the antibiotics and are still sneezing, it's likely they'll need another round of antibiotics. Call you vet and get their advice. They'll likely just refill the meds without seeing them back.

And, yes it's possible one kitty could have missed it. Just like a family can all have the flu but one. Lucky kitty. However, symptoms could pop up in that one well after the others are in the clear.

Just depends how severe it is. Five of my cats outside had it, some need antibiotics for ten days, some needed two weeks and some even longer.

In my experience the sneezing can last a while after the other symptoms are gone... Sometimes Bugsy sneezes for a good month after his URI...
I would call the vet since they are kittens though.

When we adopted Neely she was harboring an URI and even with antibiotics she still required nebulizer treatments. It took nearly 3 wks. for her to feel better. Hang in there, good luck!

Today is the one-month anniversary of two of my cats coming down with calicivirus. I'm still force-feeding and sub-Q-hydrating the elderly one, and the kitten is on his second (or third?) round of antibiotics. He still has the occasional bad coughing spell.

I'm really tired of this virus, and so are they! I think they are finally getting better, but very slowwwlllly.

Good luck, and hang in there.
