Dottie and I went down to the shelter Saturday. They've been understaffed and having trouble getting their cats photographed for Petfinder, so their page hasn't been updated in quite a while. We took photos of all the cats, and Dottie plans to go down and do the entry work for them this week.

Here are some of them:

All but the last guy are available. The last photo is of Jordan, one of our shelter's resident cats. He's old, overweight, diabetic, and going blind in one eye, but he loves everyone.

I would take the other tuxedo cat. I've read that adult tuxedo cats are the hardest to get adopted. I have decided thats what I will do adopt the cats that are hard to get adopted. I hope it will quite a while yet though. I am at my limit for cats.

Too wonderful cats, the gray one captured my heart. What's his/her name?

Beautiful kitties, mrblanche.

It looks to me that the "tuxedo" is actually a calico. I see patches of brown under the chin and on the right side of her face.

As far as getting adopted, I've heard black cats are usually the last ones chosen. They don't photograph well and if they're a bit shy and skulking in a corner, it's really hard to get a good look at their features. I would imagine the degree to which tuxies suffer from that depends on their patterning a lot.

I would take these three in a heart beat if I was close enough.

All very pretty babies! I love the non tuxedo black and white and the manx tortie. Hopefully they'll all find great homes soon!

Aw, look at the sweet and beautiful babies. It always hurts my heart to see kitties in a shelter. Here's hoping they find their forever homes really quickly.

Good news and bad news.

Here, you can see the whole crew (this was all of the cats available on Saturday).

Shelter cats

The good news is that the all-black kitty, who was quite rambunctious (you'll notice he's being held down for his photo) was adopted this morning.

The bad news is that Stevie, the first flame-point boy, was put to sleep this morning. His health took a turn for the worse, and he was never really "settled in."

Very cute! I bet someone notices her soon. Vibes for a swift adoption. I wish I was anywhere near Texas, I'd scoop her up in a

I really like Miss Purrla! i could take her home in a second!

actuallly I'd want to take them all. That's honestly why i can't donate time at the shelter here. i've gone down there numerous times and my heart is heavy every time i leave. Just can't do it.
