Jeeves came in "jus' 'splorin." Got up on the edge of the tub. Stared at the bubbles in fascination. I cleared some bubbles away so he could clearly see that there was water underneath them, and I even put my wet hands up to him so he knew it was water. He dipped one paw in. Took it out and shook it. Dipped the other paw in. Took it out and shook it. I tried to encourage him to leave. He dipped the first paw back in, above the wrist. Shook it. And then he dived in!
He didn't like it, but he wasn't the "running at full throttle chain saw" I've seen some cats imitate. I held him up out of the water, called Dottie, and she came in with a towel and dried him off.
