Hi-my cat Turbo (11 yrs old) has been treated for intestinal lymphoma for almost 1 1/2 yrs now. He's been doing fairly well, but recently had ultrasound + biopsy because he's been having diarrhea. Results showed a mass on bowel. He's since gone really down hill. This cat loves to eat and now won't even eat.

Obviously we're very concerned. Vet said we could have surgery to remove mass, before it obstructs his bowel or do more intensive chemo. Both my husband and I don't want to put the poor cat through more crap. He hates going to the vet! I don't believe he's even healthy enough to have surgery.

Just want to get feedback if anyone's had any experience with a cat who's survived 1 1/2 yrs on chemo, then decided to have surgery. I'm trying to get all the info necessary to make right decision. We don't want him to suffer anymore. Thanks for your info!

Yes, I saw. As as aside, kitties are wonderfully resilient creatures and seem to take surgery in their stride.

Vibes for Turbo:

I see that you are starting to get some replies. Remember, you are not alone!!!!

My kitty, Whimsey has IBD which can turn into lymphoma so I've been haunting all the yahoo user groups (lymphoma, pancreatis, assisted feeding, you name it!) so I can be as proactive in his treatment as possible.

Hugs!

thanks for all the info Elizabeth. He's eating a little baby food, se we'll take it all in stride. Thanks for referring yahoo groups, learning a lot. Good luck with your IBD kitty as well.
