In honor of another sleepless night, I was wonderring:

What time is bedtime in your house?

Depends on what sleep schedule I'm on.
Right now I've been falling asleep at 8:30-9 pm and getting up at 5am. DH goes to bed an hour or two later and gets up at the same time.

Usually 11:30 - 12:00. That's the time when I wake up from falling asleep on the couch at 11:00 and then go to bed.

Here it varies:

Kayleigh has an 8:00 bedtime, Kendra has a 9:00 bedtime, DH goes around 10:30 and I try to go too when I feel I could sleep.

Right now its up in the air.... I was so tired last night, and went to bed with DH at 10ish.... ended up coming downstairs at 11:30, trying again to sleep at about 1:30.... it just wouldn't come.

With all the sickies around our house, my "good sleep" phase has worn out. I would give anything for 6hrs of straight sleep.

I don't really have a set bedtime, but probably around 12 is the most common. Sometimes as early as 10 and at other times as late as 2 or 3, though the latter is becoming much less common as I get older.

Whenever my DH can't sleep he'll let me have a rambling monologue about a particular subject. My monotone voice + boring subject usually puts him to sleep.
Do you have anyone or thing that can bore you to sleep?

LOL.... I wish. I've even pulled out my programming books in hopes of it putting me to sleep... no luck

It'll pass....it usually does.... just varies on how long. I'm hoping tonight... DH is gone for the night, so with any luck, I will be able to get some sleep tonight (no interruptions from him, and sleeping in my own bed instead of the couch or DDs bed to avoid my hubbys cold symptoms keeping me up)

If you have a bedroom tv - turn it to the history channel or something (as long as it doesn't go to paid programing later) and turn the volume low. Maybe that'll help bore you to sleep.

LOL....good idea.... hmmmmm, I bet I can find a "talk radio" station to listen to. (less hydro than the tv
)

That has to be the one suggestion I have not tried for my bouts of insomnia.
that it works

9pm up at 4am, working at 5am.

When my insomnia gets really bad (I went 3 days on no sleep last week), I will find things to completely exaust myself, usually works. Last week it was cleaning out my truck and washing, hand waxing it.
For lighter bouts, I play very mellow trance music, a type they call chillout trance.
The best one I've found for sleeping is a CD by Senn called Progressive Scan, you can find and download it free online.

My other suggestion would have been to find really boring audio books with monotoned people reading them. I wonder if Ben Stein has done some audio books?

Sleepy for all that need them.

DH is down by 9:30 the latest. He starts reading at 9pm. I try to get DS down after 8pm but sometimes we start the routine around 7:30 when he is cranky. I try to stay up no later than 11pm. If I am really tired around 8:30-9 when DS is asleep.

Anywhere between 9p and 10p. Any later and Topaz is glaring at me. See, if I go to bed any later I can't wake up at daybreak to feed her.

I generally turn the computer off around 10 P.M. and then watch TV for a couple of hours. Most nights I try to be asleep by 1 A.M. at the lastest but that doesn't always work

Umm it depends! I sometimes go to bed at 10, sometimes 11 and sometimes 12 due to how much homework and studying needs to be done!

I'm usually in bed by ten, but have insomnia a lot and don't always fall asleep right away. Up between 6:30 and 7 or whenever Riley gets hungry.
