Hi everyone, my name is Cleo, I live in Southern England (UK) and I have three cats -
Lilly, who I think plans to take over the world - she's eighteen years old and as youthful as a kitten, and she's a tortoiseshell turkish angora, acquired by my stepfather when his friend bought her as a gift for his girlfriend only to find out she was allergic! When she was younger we were told she could be entered into a cat show but we thought it best not to disturb her daily routine - wash self, wave tail under as many people's noses as possible, and follow my stepfather around devotedly.
Bolan, who is the largest and most lazy cat I have ever met - he's three, and I've had him since the day he was born as his mother was our cat (may she RIP). The second I saw Bolan, who fit in the palm of my hand back then, I knew he was staying. He's shiny and black all over and very sweet, he's never once hissed at, bitten or scratched me, even as a youngster at play! He's about the size of a Jack Russel dog, but is scared of everything, I think he thinks he's still in the palm of my hand!
And finally, the alpha male and big personality of the house, Cushty. Though he's about half Bolan's size and age, he ruled the roost from the day he came home with us - this tiny little kitten jumped straight on giant Bolan's back, and Bolan sank down to the floor and just led there whilst Cushty gnawed at his ears! They're the best of friends now, they play fight, cuddle up and share food. Cushty is very loud, very cuddly and falls straight asleep if you put him on his back and tickle his chin. Unfortunately he is confined to a cage for six weeks as he's somehow broken his hip, the poor thing.
So those are my lovely cats! I joined here for advice on Cushty's broken hip but it's great to see people talking about their cats, I think my friends tire of hearing about their latest adventures! As for me, they call me the pied piper of cats - wherever I go they come to me! I went to Morocco this year and over the week I was there I gained a following of beautiful strays, who all wanted to pile on to my lap at once! I don't know what it is, cats just love me.
