my kitty, Hobbes, has ear mites..
i went to the vet and picked up some meds for her.. and they seem to have helped, but i'm down to the last treatment and she's still rubbing her ears on everything and acting like they still itch a lot. i don't really have the money to take her back to the vet right now but i was wondering if there's anything else i can do if the meds the vet gave me don't completely get rid of her ear mites?

Are her ears full of black gunk? If so, you can carefully clean them out before applying the earmite drops and that can help make sure it gets to the mites.
Others on here have successfully used a tiny bit of olive oil to wipe the ears out with and get rid of mites.

they were full of that black gunk.. but we got most of it out before we started her treatment. there still a little way down deep in her ears.. but i'm afraid i'll hurt her if i try to get it out..

Get a ear cleaning solution made for cats.
That can help flush that junk out and won't leave the inside of the ears wet enough to pose a risk for possible infection. Your vet may have some in stock or a quick call could get you some recommendations for brands that may be available in your area.

I second this. My daughter's cat was found to have ear mites when he came here to stay for a holiday. My vet gave him spot-on Revolution (here it is called Stronghold), which acts on mites as well as fleas and ticks, and also some drops. We could not get near him to administer the drops but when eventually he seen by a vet in England (and it took three techs to hold him down) the ear mites had gone, though he was still scratching. The vet thought the ear drum might have become infected and gave him some antibiotic drops. Over hte next few days he became much calmer and she was able to look into his ears and confirm all was well.

thanks everyone for your advice..
she's acting like she feels much better, but still rubbing her ears on everything.. she doesn't seem as agitated as she was before though.
i still don't have the money to take her back to the vet right now..
i will in a couple of weeks, but i don't want her mites to come back full force before i can take her back to the vet.
i still have half a bottle of drops left from the first vet visit..
the instructions say to treat her with six drops per ear every four days..
i'm going to call the vet in the morning to double check..
but do you all think it would be ok if i keep giving her treatments with her leftover meds till i can afford to take her back to the vet?

you mean for four days, right?? You don't need to take her back to the vet again for that, you can just call them... Usually you treat until a couple of days after the symptoms disappear BUT ASK your vet tomorrow on the phone.
