Well, my little girl Zephyr learned something new today. She can meow! Most kittens learn earlier than 4 months
but sometimes life's a bit slow. It was amazingly cute. She was in her carrier on the way to the vet for shots and she REALLY had to pee. At first it was little raspy whispers, then she made a huge MEW. Of course, then she looked around to make sure there were no other kitties around.

My Aya didn't figure out the mewing thing until she was spayed at 5 1/2 mos.

She was a very non-talkative kitten before.

They keep them overnight here and I picked her up the following day and got an earful of complaints mostly I think. She's been talkative ever since.

I don't know if it was realistically just that she was with/near other cats for the first time since she was 3-4weeks old, and learned it from them, or that she realized that she needed to learn to speak up for herself if she didn't want to go back to that awful cat torture place again (the Vet!).

Trapped in the catroom! ;o)
When we first got GiGi she didnt meow once we brought her in she made these weird growly sounds. Once her and Hercules became bf and gf she meows trills and chirps right along with him..Like right now they are both playing on the kitchen table trilling and chirping at each other while batting at each others legs! Its so adorable they love each other so much!

our cat, delilha, a turkish van, tries to talk to us all the time.
i think sometimes she gets annoyed at us, because we do not understand her.
she is very vocal and she is our little angel, we love her.
she is so loving, loyal and really funny.

My Ellie - at 2 - still doesn't meow, she squeals! Since bringing her home, a year ago this month, she didn't know much about being a cat!! George has been a good teacher, thank goodness, since one of the things she needed to know how to do was bathe herself!!

Zephyr can keep clean enough to people standards... but Silver tackles her and gives her a bath at every opportunity!

Sasha just started meowing. At first all she did was trill but now she meows. Its a tiny sweet sounding little noise. She and Sabrina like to talk a lot. They are both very opinionated.
