Hi all! Just wanted to share Batman's photos and his story.

In June, we found 4 kittens in our window well!

By the time we were able to rescue, we were only able to get 3 - mommy cat moved the 4th somewhere. Looked for days - couldn't find him.... here were the three on their first day inside:

After some settling in, they became happy playful kittens:

Meanwhile, we kept feeding Momma cat (Patches) and eventually got her trapped/spayed/released.

2 of the kittens got adopted. After some consideration to other pets (my cockatiels), we did end up deciding to adopt Batman. He was such a shy kitten until his brothers got adopted out, but got way more outgoing and became a very happy purry boy. (He did not purr until he was alone - he was so scared of us until he was alone!!)

Since we were feeding Patches every night, I would go out and look at her through the window. That's when I realized #4 kitten was still with her!!!

We ended up trapping kitten #4 and found someone very nice to socialize and foster him. He is doing much better - still very very shy and not quite adoptable, but doing better every day. Sweet boy. Here is a recent photo of him from his foster mom:

Batman is growing up fast - such a sweet loving boy. We are so happy we decided to keep him as part of the family. He's a lot of fun and so cute and playful:

Although he gets into trouble sometimes....

Meanwhile outside... been trying to build a relationship with Patches. Outside, she would eat in front of me and be within 1 foot of me while eating. We decided to try to retrap her again and bring her inside. After 3 weeks of trying, we successfully got her! Here she is, very very afraid and nervous.

She's been inside not quite a week yet.. progress is going slow.. that's in another thread in the Stray/Feral section of the board.

Just wanted to show everyone my family via an illustrated story.

Aw, that's a lovely story and good on you for taking such good care of this family. I love Batman and the newest kitten because I have a thing for black kitties. Good luck with Patches, too!

Thanks everybody.
I always thought it was so confusing to explain it all in just text - or even in person!! I would always skip out #4's rescue because it just got so confusing. But it really made it easier to show this way.

Batman is adorable. We keep the toilet paper in the cabinet now. Then he figured out the tissue box.. so now I smush the top tissue in the box (but he still got into it yesterday). His tissue/toilet paper habit is probably something for the Behavior forum

He also just loooooooooooooooooves water. Whenever I fill his water dish, he jumps up hoping to get some water. If I leave it on a drip, he just lays in the sink and drinks the drips. If it's NOT dripping, he will sit there anyways and wait for it. It's really cute and silly. When he was really little, I was curious and I filled up the sink with an inch of water. He got up, went in it, started purring, then sat down fully. I about died laughing.
He is quite the character.

Ah what a wonderful story and lovely pictures! I'm glad the whole family is off the streets now. Batman is beautiful and looks like quite a character. Patches is such a pretty thing. She will get better.

Patches sounds semi-feral.. not completely wild. I am sure she will come around in time.

LOVE the pic of Batman with his nemesis the toiletpaper roll!!

Thanks all!

According to neighbors, Patches has been around the neighborhood 2 years, but I agree - she is not a super wild girl. (We sure wouldn't be trying if she was!)

Yeah, a good ending now, but even happier when #4 gets officially adopted (but his foster mommy absolutely loves him and he is very happy with her other foster cats, so he's happy) and when Patches shows me she is happy inside.

Thanks all! I keep waiting for the adopters to send me an updated picture of Gizmo & Cheese, but they never have (although they promised me they would!!) I wish I could see what they looked like now!

Batman is 7 months-ish (can't really be too sure) and he weighs 8-9 pounds. I think he's going to be a big boy!!
He is all muscle.

Patches is doing sooo much better (eating properly now) - we'll see how things go.
