Hubby took the day off today to get some things done around home. He called me about a half hour ago to share Bijou's latest sweet antic.

Apparently John went to the bedroom to fetch something and saw that Bijou had managed to get under the duvet, was laying on his back with the duvet up to the top of his chest with his front paws outside the cover just like a human might lay. John went to get a camera but by the time he came back Bijou had gotten up to follow him. This cat fills both our hearts with just joy and love that it's impossible to explain.

John's former boss was over helping him yesterday and he is so smitten with Bijou. When I got home he was loving on Bijou and Beej was just eating it up.

What does your cat do that makes your heart beat faster and joy fill your heart?

Nero flops on my face at night and purrs in my ear, or lays on top of mine or Rob's head on our pillow. His purrs actually put me back to sleep the other morning after the alarm went off. He will also put his front paws on my leg when I get home from work so I can bend down and get kisses all over.

Hoshi likes to roll on his back and stretch out and let you rub his tummy, then wraps himself around your leg like a big leg warmer. He looks like a turtle stuck on its shell when he rolls around

They both are always waiting for us at the door when we get home. If not right there, then running to the door as it opens to throw themselves down to get and give loads of love

Awwww Bijou sounds so sweet

Darcy takes the covers and pulls them off the pillows and makes them into a little cat-sized nest
Now if I could train her to make the bed when she is done

Fae gives what i call the "Love eyes" i dont know if any of you have seen your cat do this, and i really cant explain it, but cats have many expressions...this one..well her eyes just look full of love and it just melts my heart. Esp when she is laying on my lap and i am scratching her neck under her chin and she is looking up and me backwards with little hearts practically floating from her eyes...Also when i lay in bed she will lay on my chest and lick the tip of my nose

Sebastian is a sweetie, and we are already smitten with him...but he has only lived with us a few days so i dont have any stories about him yet.

Aww, all those stories are so sweet!

Genever does some really sweet things, when both BF and I are out for a few hours or more, when we get home and in the door, she comes in the hallway and just flops down showing us her fluffy belly and starts rubbing on the carpet, it's too cute!

Also if I'm lying on the sofa with a blanket on she will often jump up and get curled up and snuggle in next to me. This is a recent thing she started to do. I like it.

If BF is lying on the sofa she'll jump up for head scratches, he's got magic fingers apparently cos she goes nuts when he scratches the top of her head, and will just get on his stomach and keep turning around, on the legs, on the stomach, on the chest, back and forth, like it feels so good she just doesn't know what to do with herself!

...known in our house as "the-over-the-shoulder-besotted-look"
Both of ours do it, each in her own particular way: Fawn while in her Daddy's arms; Cindy while receiving full body rubs, either on the bed or in my lap at the computer, and occasionally when responding to "hey, Bun..."

"yeah, Mum?..."

Another thing she does that melts my heart is when she's on the bed and I'm standing beside it loving on her, she'll stretch herself up my front and headbutt my face. I tear up every time.

Such a lot of sweet stories. And some people insist cats are aloof -- yeah right!

Fae also stands on her hind legs to give kisses to her daddy. All he has to do is bend over with his face near her and make kissy sounds and she will jump up (much like a dog in begging position) and touch her nose to his lips or lick his nose. She doesnt do this to me as often. She is kind of a daddies girl (jealous as i am lol)

Sebasitian hopefully will become a mommies boy but we will see. So far they both just love us differently. My hubby is home when i work so gets to spend more time with the kids.

Sebastian does turn almost on his head when being pet. it is so silly and adoreable. I cant wait until he adjusts to his knew family and begins playing with Fae...then i will have TONS of stories!

Bugsy
... Bugsy thinks he is my husband

He is literally a few inches from me all the time - just not in the bathroom, as he is afraid of it
But he follows me every where, all the time. I go to the kitchen, there he is; I sit on the couch, there he is...
He is sooooooo sweet! Every time I go to bed he jumps in it and kneads and purrrssss and just gives me this sweetest meow, and rubs his face on mine... He needs to sleep literally hugging me, otherwise he will complain. It is the only time he will meow - that or when I am trying to wash him... (the latter not a pleasant meow though
)
Bugsy is the last face I see at night, and the first I will see in the morning... It's so funny, he can be on the living room, and he knows immediately when I wake up - before even getting up! And there my baby comes to give me good morning!
He melts my heart all the time - at least every morning and every night...

When I'm holding Carly, she will lean her forehead into my cheek and stay there purring for minutes. It is the most wonderful feeling holding her there.

Lucy will reach up like a toddler when when I'm leaning down to pick her up.

And Much will magically appear on my lap when I sit down, purring up a storm.

Your girls are so loving. And great cooks too! Just ask anyone at the cafe!

When Carmello, our cougar, puts his huge paws around me, holds on and grooms my head. When the bobcats great me at the door with their cute bobcat barks and chuffs, then turn around and expect me to shake their tails and when my domestics jump in my lap and purr

John, I can assure you that would make my heart beat faster as well. Just to get a hug or lick from Carmello would be so wonderful.

Let's see...so many things!!

Danny always comes up to me when I'm at the computer and puts his front legs on mine and meows so sweetly. He's asking to get into my lap. He always asks first, and of course I always comply. I tell him "jump up" and pat my lap and he hops up and immediately lays down just purring away.

Luke's main haunt is the bed. Anytime I go in there he thinks it's bedtime and mews and rolls over for belly rubs. I'll go sit with him and give him love. When I get up he reaches out and tries to hold my arm to him like he's saying "Don't go mommy!"

Harvey is nothing but a lover. When I'm sitting on the couch he'll saunter up to me and talks all the way over. He only "talks" this way with me. He gets up and make himself comfy very insistently. He'll lay his head on my hand until I pet his ears. He'll purr his way to sleep in my arms.

Ellie give me those! Especially when she crawls into my lap, starts to knead me and is looking for love. She looks up at me and has the most precious look on her face that I can hardly stand it!! She's only 2 1/2 and her first 18 months were not the happiest (on her own and then in a shelter). She really does appreciate her happy home!

Franky is basically my shadow. Where ever I go, he has to be there too. When I wake up in the middle of the night to see his baby blues staring back at me while he's curled up over my head, that makes me just feel like the happiest cat owner in the world.
